Help Tikvah fight against Elephant herpesvirus

HELP TIKVAH FIGHT AGAINST ELEPHANT HERPESVIRUS
CLIENT: ARTEMIS ONE HEALTH RESEARCH FOUNDATION
STORY BEHIND ILLUSTRATION:
EEHV can cause a highly fatal hemorrhagic disease in young Asian elephants, like Ebola in humans, often affecting those born in captivity, and killing up to 90% of severely affected animals.
Elephants are listed by the World Conservation Union as critically endangered. Vaccination of captive elephants represents the most plausible and cost-effective strategy for combating EEHV-related deaths and increasing the survival of this important animal species.
TASK:
Create Promotional Items & Products for Artemis One Health Research Foundation.
CREATIVE PROCESS:
For this project, we have created “Tikvah”. The name Tikvah is a Hebrew biblical name which stands for HOPE. The goal of this project is to help fund the work of ARTEMIS on EEHV research by selling promotional items and products.
We have decided to team up with the Dutch artist and plein air painter, Edward Chirino (Curacao, Dutch Caribbean) to paint the elephant concept that we had in mind. The idea was to create a more creative gift/product for Artemis to sell.
Characteristic of Tikvah is his large watery eyes that represents all the threats that this species faces, leaving them very vulnerable.
