FREE PRISHA FROM RABIES

CLIENT: ARTEMIS ONE HEALTH RESEARCH FOUNDATION

STORY BEHIND ILLUSTRATION:

THE MAJORITY OF RABIES VICTIMS ARE CHILDREN LIVING IN RURAL AREAS

Every year, ≈ 60,000 people die from rabies.

4 OUT OF EVERY 10 DEATHS ARE CHILDREN < 15 YEARS OLD.

THE MESSAGE IS SIMPLE AND CLEAR: Don’t turn your back, because it is not a problem where you live!

TASK:

Create Promotional Items & Products for Artemis One Health Research Foundation.

CREATIVE PROCESS:

Nonprofit research organizations are finding it more and more challenging to access much-needed funding to carry out their research, especially in the area of neglected diseases. That is why it is important for those organizations to increase more awareness for their research area.

Purchasing branded merchandise is a great way to carry the organization’ mission ‘message’ and besides supporters are able to carry the organization’ brand everywhere they go and deliver the organization’ message to others.

For this project, we have created “Prisha”. A sweet and innocent little girl, who lives in a rural area of India. Prisha represents one of the many victims of rabies disease. The first illustration represents a healthy girl worth saving from a preventable disease. The second illustration represents the reality for those children living in developing countries where many of these infections could have been prevented if vaccines were available at affordable prices.

The zombie-like representation will attract the needed attention as it represents just one of the clinical symptoms of rabies, hypersalivation (over-production of saliva).

For this project, we have collaborated with our illustrator partner “Argha” from the moving pixel company.
